Pam Gassman is an award winning and internationally recognized artist.  History is one of Pam's passions, much of her art celebrates her historical interests, most notably in her recent collection of "Life in Colonial America".  Which focuses on colonial women as well as the colonial family experience.  

In her colonial women's series - in most cases, Pam sews the clothes, then photographs her models for a unique portrait.

Pam is a professional instructor with over 29 years experience in a wide variety of mediums and techniques.

Pam has had her work shown in galleries around the United States.  

She has won several juried art awards for her art including several Best of Shows and Grand Championships.  She was awarded first in the nation in fine arts for portraits in the D.A.R. competitions in 2010, 2016 , 2017 & 2019. 

 Pam's colonial portrait "Contemplating her stitches" won the prestigious "Evelyn Cole Peters award for Artistic Excellence in 2016 where she received her award at Continental Congress in Washington D.C.  

In 2019 she had a private showing in Tacoma's Handforth Gallery and received excellent critical reviews. 

She also was awarded the "Woman in Arts" award 

for her body of work in 2018.

Art has always been Pam's passion.  She started as a young girl in when her family lived in Montreal, Canada.  She is now a long time resident of the Seattle area. 

Pam teaches not only in the greater Puget Sound region and across the country, but has starred in and produced several video lessons for the Colored Pencil Club - an on line international video tutorial art club.  Pam also travel teaches and has taught at several Northwest Artist's conventions.

Pam has been featured in many art publications including Paint Works Magazine, Interactive Artist's Magazine, The Decorative Painter and  2- Colored Pencil Hidden Treasures, Ann Kullberg's "Color" magazine.

Pam has exhibited nationally in such collections as the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery, The Daughter's of the American Revolution Museum, The Turkey Federation Museum, The Oldfield Gallery, Maryland's Strathmore Mansion Gallery and  and several other local galleries and exhibitions.
